DESCRIPTION:Please open the link to the flyer below: \nDNSC Exercise Group Flyer 2024 \nNambour\, Laurel Springs Village\, 18 Doolan Street \nTuesdays\, 10 am – 12 noon \nFor: People diagnosed with dementia with their family carer and/or paid support carer. \nAgeless Grace chair exercises are a combination of exercises chosen for physical and brain health. \nThere is a mix of exercises to create physical strength\, co-ordination and increase aerobic capacity.  There are exercises related to tai chi and yoga for flexibility\, stretching\, breathing and relaxation. \nMusic is chosen from the participants’ favourites so they often sing-a-long or reminisce. \nThe exercises are varied to create interest and imagination to challenge the brain to think. \nThe atmosphere is playful with laughter and conversation with participants giving input to discussions. \nThe focus is on what I can do\, not what I can’t do. \nMorning tea is social with chatting and networking.  Friendships have been forged. \nPayment: privately or via NDIS or My Aged Care packages. \n$10 an individual and $15 a couple. Notices \nSunshine Singers Notice 01.01.24 \nThe Sunshine Singers Dementia Choir is an enjoyable social gathering \nFor   \n*people who are living with dementia or a related medical condition like Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis \n*live in the community or in a care facility \n*like to listen to music and/or sing \n*family carers\, family members\, paid carers or friends who need to attend to undertake the caring responsibility \n*like to be in a group with others who understand dementia \n*like to develop supportive friendships \n*those who would benefit socially\, emotionally\, psychologically and \n*those who would benefit cognitively\, with thinking\, reading\, listening\, singing and reminiscing \nThe Choir has an experienced musician and choir conductor\, Anne and pianist\, Reverend Jeanette who select the popular songs.  They provide song books with large print words from favourite songs like “Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head” or “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”. \nIndividuals\, like Roy\, play the harmonica and invited musicians play other instruments like a violin\, cello and recorder. \nThe DNSC partners with the St Andrew’s Anglican Church volunteers to operate the Choir. \nThe venue is the church at 46 Upper Gay Tce\, Kings Beach\, Caloundra with parking on the right side.  Disability Parking and wheelchair ramp is on the left side of the church. \n \nDates: Every second Friday in School terms.  10 am – 11.30 am \nThere are special occasions held at the church like the Ecumenical Services for September\, (Dementia month) and Christmas. \nMorning tea is provided by the Church volunteers. \nFree and donations are welcome. \nPlease Register so we can organise morning tea and seating. \nThe choir is not a formal choir which performs in other events or at other venues or competes in choir competitions. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n \n                                     \n

DESCRIPTION:Please open the link to the flyer below: \nDNSC Exercise Group Flyer 2024 \nNambour\, Laurel Springs Village\, 18 Doolan Street \nTuesdays\, 10 am – 12 noon \nFor: People diagnosed with dementia with their family carer and/or paid support carer. \nAgeless Grace chair exercises are a combination of exercises chosen for physical and brain health. \nThere is a mix of exercises to create physical strength\, co-ordination and increase aerobic capacity.  There are exercises related to tai chi and yoga for flexibility\, stretching\, breathing and relaxation. \nMusic is chosen from the participants’ favourites so they often sing-a-long or reminisce. \nThe exercises are varied to create interest and imagination to challenge the brain to think. \nThe atmosphere is playful with laughter and conversation with participants giving input to discussions. \nThe focus is on what I can do\, not what I can’t do. \nMorning tea is social with chatting and networking.  Friendships have been forged. \nPayment: privately or via NDIS or My Aged Care packages. \n$10 an individual and $15 a couple. Notices \nSunshine Singers Notice 01.01.24 \nThe Sunshine Singers Dementia Choir is an enjoyable social gathering \nFor   \n*people who are living with dementia or a related medical condition like Parkinson’s or Multiple Sclerosis \n*live in the community or in a care facility \n*like to listen to music and/or sing \n*family carers\, family members\, paid carers or friends who need to attend to undertake the caring responsibility \n*like to be in a group with others who understand dementia \n*like to develop supportive friendships \n*those who would benefit socially\, emotionally\, psychologically and \n*those who would benefit cognitively\, with thinking\, reading\, listening\, singing and reminiscing \nThe Choir has an experienced musician and choir conductor\, Anne and pianist\, Reverend Jeanette who select the popular songs.  They provide song books with large print words from favourite songs like “Rain Drops Keep Falling on my Head” or “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”. \nIndividuals\, like Roy\, play the harmonica and invited musicians play other instruments like a violin\, cello and recorder. \nThe DNSC partners with the St Andrew’s Anglican Church volunteers to operate the Choir. \nThe venue is the church at 46 Upper Gay Tce\, Kings Beach\, Caloundra with parking on the right side.  Disability Parking and wheelchair ramp is on the left side of the church. \n \nDates: Every second Friday in School terms.  10 am – 11.30 am \nThere are special occasions held at the church like the Ecumenical Services for September\, (Dementia month) and Christmas. \nMorning tea is provided by the Church volunteers. \nFree and donations are welcome. \nPlease Register so we can organise morning tea and seating. \nThe choir is not a formal choir which performs in other events or at other venues or competes in choir competitions. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n \n                                     \n
